About The Dover Town Library

Welcome to the Dover Town Library! Since the establishment of a free public library in Dover in 1894, the town has recognized the need for the preservation of knowledge and ideas, and access to that information for all. That recognition continues today within the walls of the Dover Town Library, where you will find a warm and welcoming environment providing traditional services that support the reading and informational needs and interests of all of our patrons in a variety of formats, including print and multimedia.

In addition, we strive to identify the emerging technologies that will maximize access to information for the entire community, and provide a Library without walls that allows for access to many digital resources 24 hours a day, 7 days a week via an internet connection.

Dover Town Library was named a “Best Small Library in North America 2012″ by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and Library Journal.
Congratulations to the entire Dover Library Staff!

Dover Town Library has been awarded “America’s Star Libraries – Top Rated Libraries” by Library Journal every year between 2014-2020.
