The Trustees and Staff of the Dover Town Library are committed to:
PROVIDING:
• Materials in all formats for the purposes of enrichment, entertainment, and life-long learning
• Excellent customer service from a trained, professional staff
• Informational resources and educational tools to support formal learning for students
• Free access to the Internet, and assistance as needed
• Access to a modern, well-equipped meeting space
SERVING:
• As a central gathering place and cultural center for the community
• As a clearinghouse for community information and local history
CULTIVATING:
• Strong ties with library patrons, the local school and the Dover community
• A leadership role in providing access to information in both traditional and innovative ways
• A supportive, enriching work environment for its staff
BORROWING POLICY
Any resident of Massachusetts who can provide proof of current address and is five years or older is entitled to a library card. We ask that you present your Minuteman Library Network card or a valid driver's license when checking out library materials. Loan periods of materials are as follows:
- Books- 3 weeks
- Videotapes/DVDs- 1 week
- Books on tape, Compact Discs- 3 weeks
- Magazines- 2 weeks
Most items may be renewed once either in person, by phone, or from your home computer. Although the library charges no fines for overdue materials, patrons will receive overdue notices. We do charge for lost or damaged materials.
The Dover Town Library is a member of the Minuteman Library Network. Patrons are entitled to use the resources of all of the libraries in the Minuteman Network; please inquire if you have specific questions about your Minuteman privileges. Members of the Minuteman Library Network include the following libraries.
