Fall Programs begin Sept. 15th

We have a lot of fabulous ongoing programs and special events upcoming this Fall! All programs and special events are drop-in, no registration required, and free to all, unless otherwise noted. Need details? Call the Children's Dept.

Ongoing Programs are listed below. Special Events and Clubs are listed in the Calendar and will be highlighted as they draw near. Special events and Clubs include: Kids Knit! Club, Passport to Adventure, Mannersmith's Junior Charm School, Afternoon Movies, A Visit from Gregorian's ~ The Art and Culture of the Oriental Rug, A Book Release Party for JK Rowling's Tales of Beedle the Bard, and more!

Ongoing Programs:

Mondays:

Story and Activity Time (K through 2nd grade)

On Mondays from 4:00-4:45 pm, come Relax at the end of the day with afternoon stories and fun story-centered activities.

Tuesdays:

Bounce, Giggle, Clap, & Sing! (under 2 years old)

Are you under 2 years old?  If you are, we have a great Babytime Program just for you and your caregiver!  Join us Tuesday mornings all Fall from 10:30-11:00 am in the Library Community Room for songs, rhymes, bounces, bubbles, board books and more!

Open Media & Gaming (all ages and abilities)

On Tuesdays from 2:00-5:00 pm, drop by and test your skill on today's top Wii and Playstation games or enjoy playing some classic boards with friends.

Wednesdays:

Stories and Movement (2 to 5 years old)

Join us for songs, fingerplays, stories, and fun & easy crafts every Wednesday morning in the Library Community Room from 11:00-11:30 am.  We have some great programs planned ranging from Apples and Pumpkins to Dinosaurs and more. 

Open Media & Gaming (all ages and abilities)

On Wednesdays from 2:00-5:00 pm, drop by and test your skill on today's top Wii and Playstation games or enjoy playing some classic boards with friends.

Thursdays:

Fall Open Art Workshops (3rd grade & up, Families)

Drop by on Thursday afternoons between 3:00-4:30 pm and explore different media, art methods, and make some great projects to take home.  This is an open, unstructured drop-in program ~ no registration required.  We will look briefly at different types of Art and then have art supplies, materials, and resources for you to explore and with which you can create! Some planned Afternoons include: Pop Art, Watercolors, Native American Sand Art, Mobiles, and more.

Fridays:

Friday Storytimes! (2 to 5 years old)

Come and share some super stories and make a related craft to take home. We gather at 11:00 am in the Library Community Room.  Upcoming great storytime themes include: Farms, Skeletons, Cowboys, and much more! 

 

Passport to Adventure

Are you ready to travel around the world?  This year the Children's department is focusing on 'Global Awareness' as part of the Library's ongoing One Book, Two Towns, Three Cups of Tea program partnership. Pick up your Passport to Adventure at the Children's desk beginning on September 15th and read your way around the world, collecting badges and stamps as you go.  You will be able to chart your progress on the World Map in the Library foyer, the new Children's globe, and learn more about all this fascinating world offers.  More details about the program will be available online and in the Children's department after September 15th.  Bon Voyage!
