Teen Volunteer Opportunities

Looking to earn volunteer hours for school, college applications, or just for funsies?

Here is a list of current volunteer opportunities with the Dover Town Library:

  • Be a Virtual Tutor or Virtual Book Buddy! The library will soon be offering one-on-one peer tutoring and learning support for students K-12 via Zoom meetups. We will also be offering our popular “Book Buddies” teen/child partnerships in a safe and fun online format! If you are interested in volunteering as a virtual tutor or Book Buddy, please fill out this Google Form to be added to the list of on-call volunteers.
  • Write a book review: Review any book you’ve read—past or present, loved or hated. Email your review to lokeefe@doverma.gov to receive credit. Plus, we’ll post your review on our website! Instant fame + volunteer credits without leaving home? Check! (To view a sample book review, go here)
  • Attend our monthly virtual TAB meetings: The Teen Advisory Board currently meets in the library every month on the 4th Thursday to discuss programming ideas, collection development, and other ways the library can serve our community virtually or in person. If you’re interested in joining us, email lokeefe@doverma.gov. All students who attend will receive credit for volunteer hours.
  • Programming Help: We can always use a little extra help administering our library programs and events, whether for children or adults. If you are interested in volunteering at library events, please fill out the Google Form mentioned above, and write to lokeefe@doverma.gov.
