goodbye from jane

In case you haven't heard, I have been offered a new position in Reference Services at the Worcester Public Library, starting August 25th. I want you all to know just how much I have loved working with you all (but can it be called work when we're having so much fun?!), and I hope you'll keep advocating for better services, resources and SPACE! for teens.

If anyone wants to stay in touch, just drop me a line at WPL - I promise to write back! I will miss you, thank you for allowing me to be a part of your lives.

summer kickoff photos

Thank you to Dave Curry from Drums for One and All who helped us Kick Off Summer with a Sunday afternoon Drumming Circle on June 22nd! All participants had a chance to try several of his percussion instruments, imagining themselves around a tribal campfire or creating a sudden storm deep in the Amazon forest.

Scratch

Scratch is a new programming language that makes it easy to create your own interactive stories, animations, games, music, and art -- and share your creations on the web! Scratch was developed by the Lifelong Kindergarten group at the MIT Media Lab, in collaboration with the UCLA Graduate School of Education and Information Studies. teen advisory board

The Teen Advisory Board held its last meeting of the school year on May 14th, honoring outgoing senior Anugraha Raman for her participation as a member over the past two years. She has chosen a collection of plays by Tom Stoppard to be added to the library's collection with a bookplate in her honor. We wish her all the best in the future, and will greatly miss her!

The Teen Advisory Board will resume monthly meetings in September. New members are always welcome, please join us!
