Library Board Members
The Board of Library Trustees, as elected officials, are accountable to the taxpayers and the people served by the library. Trustees, working closely with the director, establish policies and determine the final budget. The library director is responsible for daily operations and procedures at the library. This chart, created by the State of Connecticut and published by the American Libraries Association, helps to clarify the roles and duties of the Library Board of Trustees, the Friends of the Library, and the Library Director as we all work together for the good of our library community.
Trustees for the Dover Town Library are elected by Town residents to serve three-year terms. Two members are elected each year.
