Library Card Registration
All Massachusetts residents with a verifiable address are eligible to get a library card at the Dover Town Library. You only need one library card within the Minuteman Library Network.
How to get a library card:
- Visit the library. If you’re helping someone else apply, such as your child, that person must also be present. Bring a driver’s license or a photo ID + proof of current address, such as a bill.
- A staff member at the desk can give you the registration form, which only takes a few minutes to fill out.
- There is no minimum age requirement. Children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian when registering for a card.
- You can use the library card to borrow materials from anywhere in the Minuteman Library Network, including digital materials through Overdrive. Other digital materials will vary depending on the town you live in.
eCard Registration
If you already have a physical card from a Minuteman Library, use that online and skip this registration.
An eCard allows you to use digital materials and place holds before visiting the library to upgrade to a standard library card in person. All Massachusetts residents with a verifiable address are eligible to get an eCard.
You may use the eCard to:
- Reserve items in the Minuteman catalog
- Access ebooks and audio in Minuteman’s Digital Collections
- Access your hometown’s digital collections if you live in a Minuteman town.
- You may upgrade this eCard to a card with in-library borrowing privileges at your nearest Minuteman Library Network member Public Library.
